My letter
To the leaders building the next generation of safety-critical systems,
I chose functional safety because it sits where engineering discipline meets human consequence. A strong safety case is more than a collection of work products—it is a clear, shared argument that a system and the people behind it are ready to carry responsibility.
My career began close to the hardware: integration testing, test benches, automation, and product validation. That foundation taught me to ask whether an idea can survive contact with the real system. I carried that question into safety analysis, architecture, requirements, and project safety management.
Today, my responsibility extends beyond my own technical output. I guide safety execution across a North American portfolio, review critical work, align resources, coach engineers, and help teams surface risk early enough to act on it.
What motivates me now is multiplying sound engineering judgment: creating the clarity, accountability, and trust that allow capable people to do their best work together. That is the kind of technical leadership I am committed to growing.

A progression of responsibility
Each step in my career added a wider view: first the behavior of the system, then the logic of the safety argument, and now the people and operating rhythm that make consistent execution possible.
Functional Safety Engineer, ADAS
Expanded from project safety ownership into North American execution leadership—guiding portfolio priorities, safety-case quality, resource decisions, certified reviews, and engineer development while retaining the official engineer title.
Functional Safety Engineer, Self-Driving
Led DFMEA and safety activities across five ADAS feature families, connecting concept analysis, requirements, architecture, acceptance criteria, and verification planning.
Project Functional Safety Manager · Systems Engineer
Progressed from hands-on ASIL B integration testing to systems leadership, validation ownership across three locations, team capability building, and functional-safety management.
Mechanical design · Mechatronics · Prototyping
Built a practical foundation in vehicle structures, FEA, CAD, machining, and prototyping before earning an M.S. in Mechatronics Engineering and moving into intelligent-vehicle systems.

Leadership is more credible when it understands the architecture, the assumptions, and the evidence. I remain hands-on with safety concepts, analyses, requirements, and verification strategy.
I set clear ownership and follow through, while giving people the context and support they need to deliver work they can stand behind.
I continue developing depth in software safety, SOTIF, and AI/ML safety so that my leadership keeps pace with the systems our industry is building.
